Tracing the Kruse family

My mother was born May Kruse of Danish parents but after they settled in England around 1900. I am trying to trace any direct descendants or ancestors of the family. The details of the family I have at present are :

My grandfather - Valdemar Marius Christian Kruse born 1871 (Copenhagen we think), married Karen Marie Eickhardt born 1877. Married 1897 Holmens Kirkes Copenhagen. Two children born in Denmark - Elsa born 1898, and Oda born 1899. We know that there is a family connection with Peter Elfelt who pioneered cinema in Denmark - we think he was married to Karen Marie's sister.

Can anyone provide details of any ancestors for the Kruse family, or more recent links to the Kruse family please. We intend to visit Denmark next year and would like to meet up with descendants if possible.

Many thanks for you help.

Thak you everyone for your input - particularly Eric Mortensen. I have now been able to trace the Kruse family back to my great great great grandfather born in 1765. Still hunting for the descendants though.

Hi KRUSES!!

Im looking for some Jørgen(Jorgen) Christian Kruse, He was a labourer.(Might have used a synonym for the name Jorgen, as it might have been impossible to say in another language. Synonymes could be : John, Jose, Jorge, or something like that, or he might have used Christian.
Other serch is Mads Boisen KRUSE who was a farmer. He was born in Grindsted, Varde in Ribe County,Denmark and he was 27 years old, when he left for Buenos Ayres (Argentina) on November 11.th 1905
My father has always claimed that we were descendants of Dannish people. As a matter of fact, we have a little small book about Denmark, very old! Inside, it is explained that there was a member of a royal family with our surname. Could it be possible?

Kind regards
Juan Pablo Kruse

Hi Roger
There were certainly no kings of Denmark who were called Kruse. Neither any members of the royal family.
Be careful with such stories - they are most likely pure invention!

Kind regards

Hallo!

Roger might refer to this, but that still doesn't make a Kruse a king!:

www.guide2womenleaders.com/denmark_heads.htm

quote:
1629-48 Politically Influential Vibeke Kruse in Denmark
Vibeke Kruse was the mistress of Christian IV. The first part of Vibeke Kruse's life is not known. She came into the service of Kirsten Munk, the second wife of Christian IV, and later of Kirsten Munk's mother, Ellen Marsvin. The long suffering relationship between Christian IV and Kirsten Munk was finally severed in 1629 when the King began a love affair with Vibeke Kruse. The relationship was arranged by Ellen Marsvin, who wanted to continue her own good relations with the King. With the King, Vibeke Kruse had a son, Ulrik Christian Gyldenløve. She had a great influence on the King and he presented her with an estate in Holstein and a house in Copenhagen. At the death of Christian IV, Vibeke Kruse, who was sick at the time, was expelled from Rosenborg by Kirsten Munk's son-in-law, Corfitz Ulfeldt. He also tried to initiate a court case against her; that did not succeed but she died a few months later. (d. 1648).

Hi Roger,

A branch of the Danish family KRUSE settled about 200 years ago in France, where they to this very day are important producers of wine - under the spelling CRUSE.

My 6th great grandfather was Jacob Kruse, forpagter paa Møgelkær--he married twice, firstly to Sofie Pedersdatter Stauning(widow of Oluf Mandix) and then to
Elisabeth Bang from which union comes Hans Kruse of Hvolgaard(who married
Elisabeth Vinding). I am most interested in determining the parentage of this
Jacob Kruse and where he may have gotten enough to purchase Hvolgaard.
Can anyone help here?
